Summer Camp
Summer camp runs for six weeks during the summer. (Parents choose 1-6 weeks of enrollment.) Led by a certified teacher and at least two camp assistants, each week of this lively program focuses on a different theme -- bugs and butterflies, the circus, fairytales, the seashore, and vacations are just of the few themes from previous years. The mixed-age group of 15-20 children, ages 3 1/2 - 5, explore weekly themes through a variety of fun, related activities, including crafts, games, snacks, stories, dress-up, music and movement, and sand and water play. Fridays feature extra special activities that bring closure to the week’s theme.
The camp day runs from 9 am – 12:30 pm. A snack is included, but children should bring their lunch. Field trips may be scheduled as appropriate. The summer camp experience provides school continuity for children over the summer, and gives the younger students a chance to explore the “big kid” Pre-K room. The mixed-age group allows students to befriend children from other classes as well as interact with their own classmates for extended, summertime play.
